  Services are Held for Maynard Holt
Business and Civic Leader Buried in Forest Hill

Services for Robert Maynard Holt, president of the Oliver Finnie Co., were held at 4 pm yesterday at the Second Presbyterian Church with Dr Henry Russell and Dr Bruce Boney officiating.

The chapel of the large church was filled to overflowing with friends of Mr Holt who was long prominent in the civic, social and business affairs of Memphis. Burial was in Forest Hill with National Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Holt, who was 53, died of a heart attack at his home at 174 North Highland at 9 pm Monday.


Mr. Holt was first named president of Oliver Finnie candy manufacturing business in January, 1936, when he was 28. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Jane Love Holt; two sons, Robert Maynard Holt Jr., student at Vanderbilt University, and Edwin Love Holt of the North Highland address; a brother, William Edwin Holt Jr. of 1773 Overton Park, and a sister, Mrs. Wayne Dupree of 1562 Forrest.
